Sawarna Beach (Pantai Sawarna, Bayah)

Sawarna beach (Pantai Sawarna) is located in south of Banten province, Indonesia. It's about 2 hours ride from Pelabuhan Ratu. There are few places to visit around the area, beaches and caves. The most famous is Tanjung Layar and Ciantir beach. To get there you need to pass a small wooden bridge, motorcycle can pass this bridge but if you're coming by car you need to park your car near the bridge. It is possible to walk to the beach from the parking lot but most of people use "Ojek" motorcycle ride to get there.

The other place to visit is Gua Lalay (Lalay Cave), the admission ticket is 5000 rupiah. Helmet and flashlight are available to rent. The other caves are Gua Seribu Candi, Gua Langir, Gua Kanekes, dan Gua Harta Karun. Sawarna is still developing, do not expect fancy hotel, because there are only some guest house and home stays. There are some food stall at the beach. Fortunately there are two convenience stores in this area. No WiFi, cellphone signal is good for making phone call and texting but not for data service that only available in some locations and only couple phone providers cover this area.

My favorite is Legon Pari beach, it's best to see the sunrise. I woke up early to get there as it's a little far from Sawarna. I went there at 5 am by Ojek that already arranged by the guest house staff. It's was a beautiful moment. Don't forget to bring your tripod, get your camera ready, because this place is really nice if you're into photography.

Jakarta - Serang - Saketi - Pandeglang - Malimping - Bayah - Sawarna
Jakarta - Rangkasbitung - Cileleus - Gunung Kencana - Malimping - Bayah - Sawarna

I took the third route on my way to the Sawarna beach and on the way back I took the first route via Pelabuhan Ratu. Sawarna is about 2 hours from Pelabuhan Ratu beach.
