Ingredients:
- 2 cups flour
- 3/4 cup butter*, diced, chilled
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup ice water or as needed
Directions:
- Combine the flour with the butter with pastry cutter or fork, make sure the butter is really cold.
- Once it resembles coarse crumbs, add water 1 tbsp at a time
- Add the water just until it comes together
- Wrap the dough with plastic wrap
- Store in fridge for minimum 2 hours, I usually rest it overnight
- Sprinkle flour on working surface, roll the dough, put on baking pan
- Put in freezer for few minutes before baking
- I usually use low temperature on 175C for about 45 to 50 minutes
- I don't like egg wash on my pie, so I usually brush it with coconut nectar or other liquid sweetener
* You can also use margarine but it's not as tasty as if you use butter. Sometimes I make using half butter and half margarine
