SATOO Shangri-la Jakarta: Thursday Red Night

SATOO Red Night is happening, it's every Thursday that the restaurant will be all in red. From the napkins to the staffs uniform. Get ready for buffet dinner from 12 open kitchen that present SATOO's delicacies with a touch of red. OK so shall we start with these lovely salad and appetizers? Tomato and mozzarella salad could be the best choice, but they also have lovely smoked salmon, beet  root and feta salad.

Salad Bar - Here you can build your favorite salad. I had mine with mixed greens, roasted bell peppers, macadamia nuts, and drizzled it with raspberry dressing. 

Sushi and Sashimi - pretty maki rolls, sushi (salmon, tuna, snapper), sashimi (salmon, tuna, octopus). My choice goes to this pretty roll, it's tempura, kyuri, and avocado roll topped with pretty pink tuna. For me wasabi is a must when eating sushi, it helps balancing the flavor and reduce the fishy smell and one more reason is because wasabi is effective in supressing microbes and bacteria that can cause food poisoning. If you're quite not sure about it, simply believe that Japanese did it for good reason.

The highlight for Red Night is the fresh seafood: tiger prawn, fresh pacific oysters, mussel, swimmer crab, yabbies, and white clams. All the seafood are handpicked to ensure the finest quality. There are various sauces to choose a condiment from strawberry and mango vinaigrette, raspberry vinaigrette, thousand island dressing and blood orange emulsion, to sun dried tomato pesto. 

Western & Asian - red wine braised beef medallion, salmon roll in spicy Provencal sauce, Singaporean chili crab, Szechuan style beef, seafood kway tiao, Thai red duck curry with lychees

Indonesian - chicken in rica rica sauce, rendang, nasi goreng, rawon, red jackfruit curry

Noodle - soto mie, mie bakso, mie aceh, laksa, mie kocok

Pasta - Potato Gnocchi, Ravioli, Spinach Tortellini, Spaghetti that can be served with your preference sauce from tomato pesto to savoury cream sauce. Special for the Red Night they have red fresh pasta, and this is tomato ravioli with cream sauce and bacon bits on top. 

Indian - Butter Chicken, Paneer Tikka Masala, Mushroom Masala, Briyani, Mango Chutney, Naan. I always love Indian food, because it's tasty and it has strong flavor and I'm impressed with the Indian food here. So, it's a must station to visit!

Chinese - traditional peking duck, dimsum, roasted pork

Dessert - Various sliced cakes, Tiramisu, Kolak, Es Campur, Serabi, Choux, Crème Brulee, Chocolate Fountain, Teppanyaki Ice Cream. The fondue turned red for the night because it's Red Night. 

Fruits - Wide array of fresh, whole and sliced fruit, traditional seasonal fruits are also available

Jamu - It's very interesting that SATOO also have jamu .There are around twelve types of Jamu which are offered, from Kunyit Asam and Beras Kencur to Jamu Paitan, Cabe Puyang and more.

As you know, I am a fan of green tea ice cream. Did I say it many times? Well, I was so happy to find out that they have green tea ice cream. I asked my Teppanyaki ice cream to be mixed with roasted almond and biscuits. FYI, I really love ice cream and I had 2 portions even after having so many other dishes.

Drinks - water is always be my first choice, but how can I resist these cute fresh juices in bottle
