Where To Stay
If you want to enjoy Kuala Lumpur in classic way, Bukit Bintang is definitely the right choice for you to stay. It is the most touristic place in Kuala Lumpur, it's very crowded, but quite easy as everything you need is here. Places to eat are all over the corner, and shopping mall are just one step away from your hotel. Here you can find accommodation from fancy five stars hotel to a bunk bed backpacker hostel. I stayed at Invito Hotel Suites, it's close to Jalan Alor the famous food street. I do recommend this hotel as the service was amazing, they're nice and friendly. The executive room is very spacious with a kitchen inside, yes equipped with a stove, microwave, toaster, fridge, and kitchen tools. I didn't want to miss this chance, me and Vendryana together we made a video about how to make easy yogurt parfait, you can watch it here.
Where To Eat?
It's not hard to find places to eat in Kuala Lumpur. There are plenty of restaurants around the city, the food court at shopping malls could be an alternative to get various dishes in one place. When the sun goes down, and you start to get hungry, make your way to Jalan Alor. It's the most famous food street in Kuala Lumpur. You can find many kind of food from Thai to Chinese food. Don't be overwhelm, just pick one stall and grab your seat. To be compared with some other places in Kuala Lumpur, the price here is a little more expensive but still reasonably to spend. But if it's very late and you're still craving for something to eat, Lebanese food could be a good choice, because they open for 24 hours. It's Al-Rawsha Restaurant, find out more here.
Grilled Stingray fish for dinner? I know it's not typical food from Malaysia but most of places in Jalan Alor offer seafood BBQ and this is definitely worth to try. It was not my first time having Stingray fish as my family is a seafood lover. The chili sambal was so good!
Must Try?
Do you agree if 'Nasi Lemak' is a must try while in Kuala Lumpur? Well, I'm a fan of Indonesian dish called 'Nasi Uduk' which is similar to Nasi Lemak. The rice cooked in coconut milk and some spices creating a fragrant aroma. It served with hard boiled, chili sambal, and crispy fried anchovies.
If you remember a Malaysian cartoon TV show called Upin Ipin, you might remember 'Ayam Goreng' which mean fried chicken. Many countries has their own version of fried chicken and so with Malaysia. It closely looks like what I have here in Indonesia but it is actually different as they use different spices and seasonings. I prefer the fried chicken to accompany my Nasi Lemak instead of the crispy anchovies.
Take a Picture at The Iconic Tower
It's Petronas Twin Tower, located at KLCC. The most iconic, and a must visit if you ever coming to Kuala Lumpur. It's best to see the beauty of this tower at night. Get your camera ready! But if you do not want to follow the crowd but enjoy the tower view, cross the street at the back of the tower. There's a restaurant called NZ where you can sit down and enjoy the food with view of the twin tower.
