Resep: Silky Matcha Green Tea Pudding with Coconut Sauce Recipe

I'm not really into pudding but yes for jelly and of course matcha. If you're following me on Instagram then you'll probably notice from captions, pictures, and videos that I've shared, anything matcha will be great BUT not that jasmine-like fragrant, I called it fake, well I hate it because it's absolutely different though it is only occur in Indonesia. So, let me share basic matcha powder that can be found in most of supermarket in Indonesia. The Korean brand is the easiest one to get as based on my experience it's available at larger supermarket. Usually I bought matcha powder when I travel abroad as there are more options.

It's possible to replace milk with non-dairy milk if you're vegan or lactose intolerant. I like it with soy milk or almond milk better than using regular milk. The most important thing is the agar and jelly powder measurement, do not put too much because it will make it firmer. Anyway, here are things you'll need for making Silky Green Tea Pudding

Ingredients:
  • 1000 ml milk
  • 1/4 tsp agar powder
  • 1/4 tsp jelly powder
  • 1 cup sugar or more if you like it sweeter
  • 1 tbsp matcha powder or to taste
Coconut Sauce:

  • 250 ml coconut milk
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp corn/potato starch
  • pandan leaves
  • a pinch of salt

Directions:
  1. Mix using a whisk, milk, sugar, matcha powder, agar and jelly powder
  2. Bring to a boil on medium low heat, keep stirring
  3. Pour into your desired mold
  4. Let it cool at room temperature
  5. Chill it in fridge
  6. For the coconut sauce, mix all the ingredients, cook on medium heat, keep stirring until boiling and thickened
  7. Best to be served cold with sweetened red bean (anyway in the picture, I put some dried cranberries instead of sweetened red bean because I ran out of it)
